HOMEFLUX SUPPORT
A little help for a softer evening.
Set up your dimmers, tune your routine, or get help when something feels off.
Before you start
The iPhone app requires iOS 17 or later, compatible dimmers already in Apple Home, permission to manage home automations, and a connected HomePod or Apple TV. Dimmers must expose brightness, power state, and change notifications. Ordinary dimmable bulbs can work with a compatible smart dimmer. Individual brands have not all been tested.
Set up your evening
- Open HomeFlux and choose your Apple Home dimmers.
- Set a bedtime brightness ceiling, bedtime, and sunset offset.
- Review and install the rules on your home hub.
- To change an installed schedule or selected dimmers, tap Update all.
Use one brightness automation system per circuit. Pause any existing Home Assistant routine for those lights before enabling HomeFlux’s HomeKit rules.
Understand the graph
The blue reading is the selected dimmer’s current reported brightness. An off light shows 0%; a missing or stale reading shows a dash. The amber steps are scheduled maximums and apply only after sunset plus your offset. A light can stay below that maximum.
Try it in ten seconds
Pause hub rules first, then use the 10-second live test while the app stays open. It lowers selected lights that are already on and leaves them at the resulting level. Resume your rules afterward.
Pause or stop
Pause rules lasts until you choose Resume rules. For a permanent stop, use Remove rules. Increasing a physical dimmer above an active ceiling may trigger another correction, so pause rules when you want an override. Remove rules before deleting the app to avoid leaving automations on your hub.
Timing and compatibility
HomeFlux uses five fixed steps toward your bedtime ceiling. Each waits for sunset plus your offset; late sunset can skip earlier steps. If sunset plus your offset is after bedtime, the final ceiling begins then. Limits end at midnight without brightening the lights. HomeFlux changes brightness, not color temperature.
